What should be the perfect strategy for the writers?

Woes of a struggling writer

Being a writer is truly a blessing. You get to write down what you feel, imagine and anticipate each day while slowly weaving the magic of words on paper and letting it play it’s game on the minds and hearts of it’s readers.

Like any other job, it requires patience and perseverance.

Every platform and genre is unique and the writer is expected to craft his or her narrative to fit each accordingly.

For aspiring new writers, it becomes a tough job to polish their craft while keeping an eye on social SEO trends that audience wants to read and enjoy.

If you want to write on science fiction, it becomes natural to write on topics related to scientific discoveries and natural phenomena.

However, if the audience prefers technological innovation mixed with scientific anecdotes, then it becomes a tricky job of writing to please the reader while maintaining our originality and tone.

When I started out on Medium, I thought that I would be able to write on topics that interested me and made me passionate about writing.Topics on relationships, health and fitness came naturally to me.

However the SEO algorithm favours the unusual genres and witty pieces that are not only difficult to come up with ,but also write as well.

The freelancing platforms are not only saturated, offering fewer paid opportunities, but they also favor certain writing styles and content based on their own audience preferences.

Being a struggling writer it becomes impossible to balance the need of my heart with that of popular opinion and desires of other people.

It has become a challenge for me to write based on popular demande rerather than what I truly want to write. It

Many writers I have come across are the ones who have balanced the needs of their profession with their own personal desires.

Paying bills on time and putting food on the table are two huge challenges for the writers. If we can find a good platform that pays us on time and takes care of our monetary issues then we can devote our time and energy to make a blog on our own and writing on topics and genres that we really want to write about.

But it is difficult to find the stamina of doing so while striving to make ends meet.

I have come across a lot of inspiring examples on the internet about aspiring writers with very humble beginnings. They had to struggle a lot when nobody knew them and endure a lot of physical and financial hardships along the way.J.K Rowling was bankrupt at the time she wrote her famous novel “Harry Potter’.She conceived the idea of it on a train and dreamt of a boy with magical powers who would rule the hearts and minds of readers worldwide.

The best selling novel

She became a global best selling author who has sold at least 600 million copies of her novel and has inspired a billion dollar media franchise.

John Grisham was a small town lawyer who made it big with his novel *A Time to Kill* after it was rejected by 28 publishers.

The rest of his novels made him the most popular writer of 21st century.

It takes a lot of patience and time to polish up our skills according to the needs and demands of popular websites and publishing platforms who enjoy a lot of power.

In this regard it is best to do a side business or a nine to five job to support our family, while slowly building our following and then monetizing it later.

This way we can devote more of our creative side and energies to writing while remaining passionate and devoted to it at the same time.
